TRAINING ON CALIBRATION OF MEASUREMENT INSTRUMENT

This module will concentrate on the principle and practical aspects of measurement and quality measurement system

  • History of measurements
  • Introduction to measurement and metrology
  • International vocabulary of basic and general terms in metrology
  • Importance of calibration
  • Traceability and calibration measurement procedure
  • Introduction to uncertainty of calibration

MODULE 2 (2 days course)

CALIBRATING OF SPECIFIC MEASURING INSTRUMENT

This module will concentrate on specific measuring instrument of participant’s choice either from electrical, mechanical or temperature scopes.

  • Basic knowledge of the instrument
  • How to calibrate the instrument
  • Preparing the calibration procedure
  • Care & Maintenance
  • Uncertainty calculation

MODULE 3 (2 days course)

MEASURING UNCERTAINTY CALCULATION

This module will concentrate on the ISO Guide to The Expression of Uncertainty Measurement. Intended to provide participants with sufficient knowledge and skills to be able to estimate the uncertainty of measurement of the calibration undertakes.

  • Historical perspective of uncertainty of measurement estimation in the ISO guide
  • Nomenclature and definitions used in calibration and measurement
  • Important application of measurement uncertainty in the determination of acceptance criteria
  • Source of uncertainty, random and systematic errors.
  • Type A & B evaluation of standard uncertainty
  • Combine standard uncertainty, expanded uncertainty and level of confidence
  • Reporting results
